Watch Shutter Island Online
Martin Scorsese’s latest directorial project is based on a Dennis Lehane novel by the same name, Shutter Island. The veteran director was recently honored at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards by being presented with the organization’s annual Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement in Motion Pictures.
Shutter Island stars Leonardo DiCaprio as one half of a U.S.Marshall investigating team, sent to cover a missing person case at the local Hospital for the Criminally Insane. The hospital, oddly enough, is out on an island. Watch Shutter Island online to see a sort of panoramic shot of a fortress-looking facility. Is it me, or does it look like a cross between Alcatraz prison and Dr. Evil’s lair?
When you watch Shutter Island online, you are seeing the third film adaptation of a Lehane novel. Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River were both originally bestsellers by the author. Lehane’s track record for successful novel-to-film translations is unmatched in his genre.
For what it’s worth, I really, really hope there is a whole lot more to it than what meets the eye when you watch Shutter Island online. Please oh please oh please. Maybe I was not in the mood for watching another set of movie trailers where everything seems to be happening in the dark. I had, in fact, just finished a set on The Wolfman movie and was feeling like Del Toro looked. Or maybe it was the Dr. Evil thing that I just could not shake the whole time I was watching Shutter Island online. I honestly expected more from this one.
This film, no matter what anyone makes of it, is carried by a phenomenal cast. Watch Shutter Island online and you will get to see DiCaprio joined by two of my personal “Top Five I Would See In Anything” List, Mark Ruffalo and Jackie Earle Haley. And who could have been cast more perfectly as the doctors than Max Von Sydow and Ben Kingsley?
With such great talent all together in one film, I really want to like this one.
But frankly, Marty, you left too many clues!
